Abstral
A sub-lingual formulation of fentanyl, for the management of breakthrough cancer pain. This product received EU approval in 2008 and European country launches are planned across 2009. ProStrakan acquired the North American rights to this product during 2008 and filed Abstral for US approval in August 2009.
Adcal-D3
A branded calcium and vitamin D3 oral supplement. Currently the Group’s biggest seller and the UK market-leader. Marketed in the UK only.
Rectogesic
A patent-protected topical nitroglycerin ointment for treating pain associated with chronic anal fissures. Launched in the UK in 2005, this product is now being marketed across Europe.
Sancuso
A patent-protected transdermal patch containing granisetron to prevent chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting. Sancuso received approval from the US Food & Drug Administration in September 2008 and was launched in November 2008. This product is also undergoing the EU approval process.
Tostran/Tostrex/Fortigel/Fortesta
A patent-protected 2% testosterone gel for testosterone replacement in hypogonadal men. Launched in 2005, this product is now being marketed across Europe. A US pivotal programme was completed during 2008 and ProStrakan's partner, Endo Pharmaceuticals, intends to re-file this product for approval in the US in mid-2010.
Xomolix/Droperidol
A branded injectable drug used primarily in the treatment of post-operative nausea and vomiting. EU-wide approval has been achieved, the product is already available in France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, Denmark and Finland, with launches in other EU territories taking place currently.
